Del City is a compact Oklahoma County suburb of 21,822 people at the 2020 census, tucked against the west edge of Tinker Air Force Base. Homes here fall in ZIP codes 73115, 73117 and 73135, and I-40 cuts across town from northwest to southeast, with Sooner Road, Sunnylane Road, SE 15th, SE 29th and SE 44th carrying most local traffic.
The city grew out of Epperly Heights, which voted to incorporate on October 9, 1948, and it takes its name from developer George Epperly’s daughter Delaphene. Carter Park joined in 1954 and Midway Village in 1963. We work on houses in all of those older additions as well as the streets near Del City High School on Sunnylane and the parks along Tinker Diagonal.
Residents remember May 3, 1999. That evening the F5 tornado crossed into Del City near SE 44th Street and Spiva Drive and left near Sooner Road, and a memorial on Sooner Road honors the seven people who died. Most of the damaged area was rebuilt within a few years, which means many of those replacement roofs are now well past 20 years old.
Selling or renting out a house? Del City’s Housing Inspection Program requires an inspection of every one- and two-family dwelling whenever occupancy changes. A roof check from us before that appointment can help you avoid surprises.
Del City does not publish a reroofing rule on its permits page, so we contact the Permits Desk at City Hall to confirm what your job needs before the crew arrives.
